Wheel Rebuild – 700c commuter wheels with SP Dynamo front wheel

Rear wheel rebuild of 700c commuter wheelset.

Robust wheelset for urban duties. The rebuild was to remove an Alfine 8 IGH hub, which felt heavy, vague and weak, to replace it with a Hope Pro2 and 10 speed cassette drive train for a lighter, more direct drive feel.

  • Halo allen key QR skewers for increased security when locked up on the street
  • Schwalbe Marathon tyres for reliable puncture resistance.
  • Silver DT comp spokes and silver brass nipples give best value.
  • Virtually invisible branding further reduces chance of theft when locked up.

The SP dynamo means the bike lights are always on which is ideal in the city. No chance of forgetting to charge a light or get caught out by sunset.

At over 2kg its not a light wheelset but it will cope with everything city streets throw at them everyday of the week, night or day
